Not exactly a sports book, but there is a whole lot of cricket as metaphor in the detective fiction City of Tiny Lights by Patrick Neate. The main character Tommy and his brother are named after their father's favorite batsmen and the entire book he talks about batting for ones and twos as slow and steady progress. The cricket talk is the best part, but it's all pretty good and funny. Follows the noir formula but falls apart a bit at the very end like so many hardboiled books.
Welcome to Allpro.social! Allpro is a place to discuss sports, sports related things, etc. General stuff is fine (if you're watching the game with friends, you don't *only* talk about the game after all), but try to keep on topic.
