Sports, medicine, racism

All I can say is WOW 馃槓 to so much of this, and as a person who works directly at the intersection of sports and medicine, I am extremely disappointed in this practice and hope it discontinues, not just in the NFL, but across medicine as a whole. This is an absolutely racist idea put into practice.

@JockJamJen this is also extremely common in personal injury law鈥攂ecause Black workers tend to earn less, lawyers try to use that to reduce economic damages that can be awarded against their clients

truly horrifying stuff to bake into the process

@nsmckinnon @JockJamJen yeah, corporate lawyers can be pretty damn awful. The whole focus on company being about best ROI over all else is just a way to create terrible incentives to be awful

@Padres @JockJamJen I recently finished the Citations Needed episode on it, and apparently there's also an ALAB one, but I had it confirmed via the guy in my football chat who works at a law firm here in WNY

Sports, medicine, racism

@nsmckinnon @Padres @JockJamJen the ALAB one is really good. like so much of tort law utilizes this shit!

Sports, medicine, racism

@JockJamJen I didn't know what this was about until I read the first paragraph and my jaw dropped, just awful and should be part of our shameful past and not in the news that it is ending now

Sports, medicine, racism

@Padres Yeah, it's real fucking gross, and also highlights how little respect the NFL has for the people who make their business successful
